Why Photography?
A good friend once told me, “Find your passion; something you love doing, and you will find a way to make a living from it.”
Photography has always been of interest to me and I have dabbled in it as a hobby for quite some time. I have hundreds of photographs of my daughter from birth to present and continue to find it a must to take pictures of every event, new haircut, and just because moment. My home and office are overflowing with photographs of family, friends, and yes, even myself.
Growing up I enjoyed listening to my father talk about his days as a photographer when he and my mother lived in Philadelphia (he was also a combat photographer serving in the 101st Airborne). As a teenager, I had pictures from all the popular magazines taped to my ceiling so that I could closely study and admire my two favorite loves: photography and fashion. It wasn’t until recently that it occurred to me, “This is it; this is what I truly love to do!” And with my friend’s encouraging words along with great support from my husband, I created Fifth Avenue Photography.
Why Fifth Avenue?
I find Manhattan to be one of the most intriguing and captivating cities there is! Fifth Avenue, located in the heart of Manhattan, is known for its high status, luxury, and of course its premier shopping. Many famous buildings and historical landmarks can be found along Fifth Avenue including the famous Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In my work, I hope to bring a little of that “New York Style” to my home town…N.Y. meets N.M.
